I had just moved into my house about 8 years ago and my parents are paying me a visit. My dad tells me that he passed this weird little building that had a sign that read "Record Store Open: 12-6" and asked if I knew about it. I didn’t know anything about it at all and proceeded to look it up online. No info anywhere.
So over the next few weeks, I drive to the location and never see the sign, until one Saturday it's there. I park and walk in and it is one of those stores that I didn't think were around anymore. Disorganized, stacked, wall to wall records, no prices or clear patterns.
The owner was a local DJ in the 70's and this was basically his storage space. As I overwhelmedly dug in, I came across this slick looking trio (with a little water damage to the bottom) and ask him about it. He knows nothing, but says "I'll give it to you for $1.00." I couldn't pass it up. I got a few other things and went home. I was stunned. This album is so heavy and full of fuzz drum breaks and slide guitars. This track is a crowd favorite when I DJ.
